Personal Project - Species Reference - Apa

A reference sheet and small collection of sketches of one of my own created species of monsters known as the Apa.

The Apa are giant, clown like monsters with the likeness of chimpanzees and spotted hyenas put together. They are the distant and feral cousins to another species I have created known as the Sanaco.

A sketch of a male Apa in the midst of a threat display. Apa only ever open their eyes when they feel threatened or pushed into anger. Their throats also expand in said times

Males are the only ones able to enlarge their throats to amplify their vocals.
